Queen’s Counsel, Q.C.
A lawyer who has been granted the title of Queen’s Counsel may write Q.C. after his or her name.
- The Honourable John P. Robarts, Q.C., former premier of Ontario, officially opened London’s Centennial Hall in June 1967.
The plural is the same as the singular: Queen’s Counsel.
- Federal Queen’s Counsel were last appointed in 1993.
Informally, a lawyer with this title is called a Q.C. (the plural is Q.C.’s), but this usage is not recommended in formal writing.
- Andrée knew her community and political work might favour her appointment as a Q.C.
- The charity marathon attracted many local Q.C.’s.
