Whitehorse, Whitehorser, Whitehorsian

Whitehorse is the capital city of Yukon Territory.

A native or resident of Whitehorse is called a Whitehorser (or, rarely, a Whitehorsian). While the demonym Whitehorser is found in newspapers and magazines, it is often replaced in more formal writing by native, resident or inhabitant of Whitehorse, or some similar phrase.

  • Whitehorsers (or The people of Whitehorse) appreciate their city’s spectacular setting between the Yukon River and the mountains.

Whitehorse is commonly used as a modifier, while Whitehorser is not.

  • The Gold Rush was an important part of Whitehorse history.
