Space robotics terminology blasts off!

What do the terms “adaptive robotics,” “excavator rover,” “flapping wing robot,” and “robotic spacecraft” have in common?
They all represent concepts in the field of space robotics.

The Translation Bureau and the World Intellectual Property Organization pooled their expertise and resources to increase and update the space robotics terminology content in their respective term banks. This collaborative project showcases 100 quadrilingual records—with harmonized terminology in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Canadian subject-matter experts from the Canadian Space Agency, Polytechnique Montréal, Université Laval, and the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, participated in the terminology validation process. The new and updated space robotics records, identified with “Collaboration with WIPO,” are now available in TERMIUM Plus®.
