A tag question is a question (like do you? or was it?) that is added at the end of a sentence. It consists of two basic elements:
Many tag questions also include the adverb not, usually attached to the verb in contracted form (n’t, as in don’t you? or wasn’t it?).
A tag question is set off from the rest of the sentence by a comma, as in the examples below.
