The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is, ex officio, the Deputy Governor General of Canada. Note the capitalization and the lack of hyphenation.
- The Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, BA, MA, LLB, was appointed Chief Justice of Canada in January 2000 and therefore became Canada’s Deputy Governor General.
