Dari, Farsi, Parsi, Persian

Farsi, also known as Persian, is the modern Iranian language spoken in Iran. The dialect spoken in Afghanistan is called Dari or Dari Persian. These languages are written in the Perso-Arabic alphabet.

  • Achim is fluent in Farsi, and so he will easily find work in Iran or Afghanistan.
  • The official languages of Afghanistan are Pashto and Dari Persian.

Parsi is the name of an ancient Persian dialect; the term Parsi (sometimes spelled Parsee) also refers to an Indian Zoroastrian.
