In Canada, humour and humourless are the preferred spellings.

• A good sense of humour is an asset in the business world.
• Humourless people must see life in shades of grey.

However, the u is dropped before the r in the adjective humorous and the noun humorist:

• Dave Broadfoot is a famous Canadian humorist.
• As valedictorian, Bridget gave a touching and humorous speech.
