Because the endings sede, ceed and cede sound alike, it is easy to confuse the spellings. The lists below show the spelling to use with different groups of verbs.
Sede: Supersede is the only verb ending in sede.
Ceed: Exceed, proceed and succeed are the only common verbs ending in ceed.
