Turkmen, also called Turkoman or Turcoman, is a language spoken mostly in Turkmenistan. Turkmen was once written in the Arabic alphabet, then in Cyrillic. Now, writers of Turkmen are adopting a modified Roman alphabet similar to Turkish characters.
A native or inhabitant of Turkmenistan is called a Turkmen; the plural is Turkmens. The corresponding adjective is Turkmen.
